Carers Rights Day Events in Wales 2024

NEWPORT 

To mark Carers Rights Day, Newport City Council’s community connector team is hosting a free information event for unpaid carers at The Riverfront Theatre.

On Thursday 21 November, between 10am and 2pm, staff will be joined by local partners and organisations to provide information and advice for unpaid carers in the city. Free refreshments will also be available.

VALE OF GLAMORGAN/CARDIFF 

Regional shortbreak schemes launch  

It’s Carers Rights Day 2024 on the 21 of November 2024. If you are an unpaid carer or young carer in the Vale of Glamorgan join GVS for a regional shortbreaks schemes launch to find out about the locally funded breaks you can access over the winter. 

Join GVS from 1pm-3pm at Penarth Leisure Centre, Andrew Road, CF64 2NS.

Carer’s Rights Day Parents’ Federation

Date: Thursday 21st November 2024

Time: 11.30 am

Where: Sophia Gardens, Pedal Power followed by coffee and cake.

Join the Parents Federation for Carer’s Rights Day. Join in for a Pedal Power session at 11.30am or go along for 12.30pm for a conversation about Carer’s Rights.

 

CARMARTHESHIRE 

Carers Trust Crossroads West Wales would like to invite you to our next upcoming event:  

Carers Rights Day – a free Wellbeing & Information Day for unpaid Carers in Carmarthenshire, to be held on Wednesday 20th November from 9:30am – 3:30pm at the John Burns Centre, Kidwelly.

There will be Wellbeing activities available, information stands from various organisations, plus expert speakers. A free hot buffet lunch will also be included.

Following your received booking form, a member of staff will email you to confirm your attendance. If you are unable to complete the form via the link above, then alternatively please contact us by telephone on 0300 0200 002 for us to complete the necessary booking details and your chosen requirements. 

 

TORFAEN 

Please join Torfaen Adult Carers at their Unpaid Carers Rights Day Celebration event on the 19 November 1-4pm at Cwmbran RFC Off Station Rd, Cwmbran NP44 1NY (just off the x24 bus route) 

Refreshments will be provided by Trios Tea shop. Entertainment provided by Nifty Strings. They will be joined by a number of support agencies.

 

 

RHONDDA CYNON TAF 

Join the Rhondda Cynon Taf Carers Support Project for their Carers Rights Day 2024 event happening on Thursday the 21st of November at the Carers Support Project Hub – 11-12 Gellwastad Road, Pontypridd CF37 2BW

WREXHAM

The Local Authority is holding an online unpaid carers forum on Thursday, November 21, from 10am – 11am.  

This forum will be a chance to discuss the issues that are facing unpaid carers, celebrate the positive work being done and discuss ways in which we could improve support.

PEMBROKESHIRE  

KEEP WELL ROADSHOW / CARERS RIGHTS DAY 

21 November – 10am-3.30pm – Phoenix Community Centre, Goodwick 

Do you look after or help out a friend or family member? 

Come and find out more about your rights and the support available to you. 

Representatives from Hywel Dda UHB, PAVS and the voluntary sector and Pembrokeshire County Council will be on hand to answer your questions.  

You can get your blood pressure checked, talk about how you can self-refer, have a chat about falls prevention and how Occupational Therapy can support you, to name just a few services – all whilst enjoying a FREE cup of tea or coffee.

Balancing Work and Care, what you need to know – 27th November 

 Do you balance paid employment and unpaid care?  Find out about your rights including the Carer’s Leave Act and what support you can request from your workplace.
