On the 3rd Nov 2015 the Minister for Health and Social Services, Mark Drakeford, issued an update on the Social Care Wales and the sustainable social services agenda.
He talks about the established Transition to Social Care Wales Advisory Panel and gives an update on the work of the Strategic Improvement Steering Group.

Transition to Social Care Wales (SCW) from April 2017 is subject to the successful passage of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Bill through the National Assembly.

What the Bill aims to do – The Bill builds on the success of regulation in Wales and reflects the changing world of social care. It will place service quality and improvement at the heart of the regulatory regime and strengthen protection for those who need it. Regulation will move beyond compliance with minimum standards, and focus more on the quality of services and the impact which they have on people receiving them.
