It’s not always easy to find the right information, at the right time, presented in the right way. The Dewis Cymru website aims to help by providing quality information from a network of social care, health and third sector organisations across Wales.
If you have any concerns about your general well-being – perhaps you are struggling to live independently at home or your housing no longer suits your needs – Dewis Cymru is there to help you, your family and carers with access to information.
Please note: Dewis Cymru currently includes resource across North Wales; however, it will be extended to cover the whole of Wales in 2016.
Why is Dewis Cymru needed?
The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 comes into effect in April 2016.
The Act puts more emphasis on giving people help and support early on, so that they do not reach a point when their well-being is put at risk. The new law recognises that individuals are the best judge of their own well-being needs and how best to respond to them.
Good advice and information on what’s available in your area and how to access services is key and that’s where Dewis Cymru comes in. Dewis Cymru is designed to give you the information you need to make choices and take control. Through Dewis Cymru, you will have access to a range of information and resources in your area that can help you deal with the things that matter to YOU.
