Carers Week 8th to 14th June

As members of The Wales Carers Alliance, on Tuesday 9th June we will be taking part in a Carers Week event ‘’Building Carer Friendly Communities’’, held at the Pierhead Building in Cardiff Bay, the event aims to raise awareness with politicians and stakeholders on what Carer Friendly Communities mean in practice for carers. Carers will be speaking at the event along with the Minister for Health and Social Services. This event runs from 11.45am to 1pm.

About Carers Week

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.

This year the focus is on building Carer Friendly Communities. Communities which support carers to look after their loved ones well, while recognising that they are individuals with needs of their own.

Carers Week is brought to life by the individuals and organisations who come together to organise activities and events throughout the UK, drawing attention to just how important caring is.

This year Carers Week runs from 8th to 14th June.
